Hey Dave, Great write up! I noticed that Austin Wells is conspicuously absent from your backup plans. He seems like a solid option to me at around pick 200, without much difference between his projections and the Stephenson/Realmuto tier. Curious about your thoughts there!
Hey David, thanks for reading, glad you enjoyed it! I've got nothing against Austin Wells, I had him ranked as my 16th option at the position (right in the same range as Logan O'Hoppe and Keibert Ruiz). He's definitely someone that will remain on my draft board and that I would be fine drafting at cost, just not someone that I'm rushing to get. My biggest concern there isn't the skillset, it's the playing time. I gave him 400 at-bats which may end up being generous. Keeping a close eye on how the rest of the Yankees' offseason plays out as he could easily jump up a few spots if it looks like he'll be hitting in a more favorable part of the lineup.
That makes sense, he definitely needs to straighten out his splits against lefties. It does seem like the ADP range spanning between Wells and Herrera have plenty of intriguing options to consider.
